The role involves working with utilities and global demand customers, and reports to the Principal Engineer.Responsibilities:Primary plant layout for HV substations.Equipment specifications for HV plant and ancillary equipment.Engineering design input across project lifecycle – from feasibility to detailed design, site construction monitoring, commissioning.Coordination with client project teams and internal disciplines (civil, structural, environmental, survey/geotechnical, transport, protection/control, CAD/BIM).Deliver projects in emerging technologies (energy storage, HVDC, smart grids, waste to energy).Provide professional services to clients in the UK and overseas.Candidate Specification:Degree level qualification; ideally or working towards Chartered Engineer status.Experience in power transmission and distribution industry.Design, delivery, and supervision of HV substation solutions (110 kV to 400 kV).Development of specifications for HV AIS/GIS substations and associated primary/secondary equipment.Full project lifecycle experience.Application of regulatory and client health & safety requirements to HV plant designs.Preparation of technical reports in English.Preferred but Not Required:Design of overhead line systems for transmission networks.Design of HV cable systems (minimum 110 kV).Site construction/testing/commissioning of HV plant systems.Experience with earthing software design (CDEGs) and protection coordination software (ETAP).Control and protection systems design.Masters degree.UK Immigration: No Skilled Worker visa sponsorship, but welcome candidates eligible for other UK immigration routes.Benefits:Private medical insurance for all UK colleagues.Health cash plan.Access to menopause support (Peppy).Wellbeing programmes, including support for family.Flexible salary options for health benefits.Pension contributions matched between 4.5% and 7%.Life assurance up to 4× basic salary (expandable to 6×).Income protection scheme, flexible benefits (life assurance, critical illness, payroll savings).Annual bonus schemes.33‑35 days holiday (minimum), with potential increase to 35 days after 5 years.Additional leave for caregiving responsibilities.Professional institution subscription; mentoring and training opportunities.Employee savings schemes and retail discounts.Advance Employee Networks supporting diversity and inclusion.Equality, Diversity & Inclusion: Mott MacDonald promotes equal opportunities and inclusivity; supports employees with disabilities. xpwpeyx Apply now or request more information about our application process.#J-18808-Ljbffr
