Qualified Transport Manager / Transport Supervisor (Development Opportunity)The information below covers the role requirements, expected candidate experience, and accompanying qualifications.Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum + car allowance + additional benefitsLocation: North West LondonHours: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–5:00pm (every third Saturday 7:00am–12:00pm)Contract: Full-time, PermanentThe OpportunityA well-established, family-run road surfacing company with over 50 years of industry experience is seeking a Qualified Transport Manager to be named on the company’s Operator Licence, or a Transport Supervisor who is keen to progress towards achieving their Transport Manager CPC qualification.This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business operating at FORS Silver level, where you will have real autonomy and influence over the transport function while working closely with the company directors.About UsOver 50 years’ experience in the road surfacing industryFleet of 30 HGVs, including:32t grabsTippersGully suckersRoad sweepersWagon & drag vehicles40 light commercial vehicles, including:Transit ConnectsTransit DropsidesPanel Vans60+ items of plant machinery, including:Dynapac PaversWirtgen PlanersJCBsExcavators (3t–21t)RollersIn-house workshop supported by two experienced mechanicsFORS Silver accreditedRole OverviewYou will be responsible for the effective management of the company’s transport operations, ensuring full compliance with DVSA and Operator Licence requirements. The role covers fleet and plant oversight, driver management, compliance, and supporting the ongoing development of transport standards across the business. xpwpeyx This position reports directly to the Directors and offers scope to develop and enhance transport systems and processes.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and maintain full compliance with DVSA, O Licence, and transport legislationAct as the named Transport Manager on the Operator Licence (or work towards qualification)Oversee day-to-day operations of the HGV, LCV, and plant fleetManage driver compliance, conduct, and adherence to company policiesAnalyse tachograph data and ensure working time compliancePlan and implement vehicle servicing, inspections, MOTs, and testing schedulesSupport and liaise with the in-house workshop and mechanicsManage bulk fuel supplies and usage monitoringSupport driver recruitment, inductions, and ongoing training and developmentMaintain and manage FORS Silver compliance, audits, and accreditationsDevelop and improve transport processes to support business growthCandidate ProfileQualified Transport Manager (CPC holder) or Transport Supervisor looking to gain CPCExperience managing fleets of HGVs, vans, and/or plant machineryStrong understanding of DVSA regulations, tachographs, and complianceOrganised, proactive, and confident working independentlyComfortable reporting directly to senior managementCommitment to maintaining high safety and compliance standardsSalary & BenefitsSalary up to £60,000 per annum, depending on experienceCar allowanceAdditional company benefitsLong-term career progression within a stable, family-run business
