OverviewTechnical Director - Electrical (Building Services) at WSP. This role involves leadership within an MEP team, delivering electrical design and project management across a range of projects.Candidates should take the time to read all the elements of this job advert carefully Please make your application promptly.ResponsibilitiesMeeting the requirements of a Technical Director - Electrical grade with a proven track record in delivering projects for the discipline and in line with client expectations.Lead in a joint leadership capacity within a mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) discipline team, providing design and technical advice in a project manager capacity on a wide range of projects.Supervise the production of detailed designs and manage the performance of others in this function.Assess project feasibility and lead overall feasibility studies.Direct the production of detailed/performance specifications and ensure client deliverables and internal KPIs are met.Act as the client’s key point of contact and maintain overall project delivery oversight.Interpret client needs and align deliverables to project requirements.Collaborate with graduate, assistant, senior and principal engineers, as well as BIM and Sustainability specialists, to contribute to projects.Business DevelopmentProvide excellent client care and identify opportunities to develop additional business for the team.Aid in developing client relationships to promote new commissions and promote WSP’s capabilities in the region.ManagementLead the production of detailed and performance specifications for the discipline, subject to review by colleagues prior to issue.Develop and line-manage junior staff.Brief project teams, ensure contracts/letters of intent are in place before work starts.Maintain project overview and resource planning, ensuring utilization across projects.Hold regular team meetings to discuss resourcing, health and safety, quality, training and development, and relevant briefs.Electrical Design SkillsLow voltage distribution systemsCable calculations (ElectricalOM or Amtech / by hand)Lighting calculations (software and manual)Energy lighting and small powerFire Detection & AlarmIntruder detectionAccess control & security systemsDisabled call systemsData cabling and outletsLightning protectionQualificationsBEng/BSc/MEng in applicable engineering disciplineCIBSE / IET / Engineering Council ChartershipRevitMEP training applied to the disciplineDon’t quite meet all the criteria?
