Projects will range from single site boiler room and energy centre installations or servicing through to large new build and retrofit district heating schemes.The compact nature of the business and our rapid growth means that the candidate has significant opportunity to develop their career in a friendly environment. We are looking to develop teams of engineers that will be able to grow into designing a variety of energy related systems. It is anticipated, therefore, that the candidate would be seeking to broaden their skills horizon.This position will differ from conventional management in that you will be given the opportunity to ‘own’ a project from adoption through to operation with involvement in pricing from bid stage through to ongoing O&M.Specific TasksParticipating primarily in the operation and maintenance of existing district heating sites, while also supporting activities during the pre‑construction and build phases, working closely with and supported by the wider Hemiko Team.Responsible for the safe and effective operation of a number of district heating sites across London and further afield. For the sites that you manage, you will be responsible for delivering the following (but not limited to);Setting up procedures and processes for new heat networks as they come across into the operational phase, either through adopting live contracts or new build sites.Ensuring high availability through scoping of spare parts, site visibility/remote monitoring and data analysis.Pro‑actively manage and build our client and customer relationships with regards to day to day running of the sites and attendance to any regular client reporting meetings.Responsible for delivery of any specialist services and call‑out contracts, as well as general supply chain activities.Responsible for operational budgets & reporting against business KPI’s. This will include scoping up corrective works for system improvements and any potential breakdowns.Assistance in the identifying areas to improve operational performance and management of subsequent energy centre upgrade works.Continually improve operating procedures and ensure they are being adhered to.Support the development of new customer offers with technical, operational, and pricing input.CandidateWe are looking for someone with a good knowledge of district heating schemes, from generation to distribution as well as plant controls & processes. The candidate will need to ensure that all plant is maintained according to planned maintenance schedules, and the sites are running as reliably and efficiently as possible. The candidate will be responsible to run a commercially successful fleet of heat networks, with support from the rest of the department. The candidate will need excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, ensuring a customer focus within all areas of operational activities, and that effective relationships are maintained with key client contacts.The candidate will be organised and self‑starting, a reliable figurehead in the operations team. They will inspire a performance‑centred culture across both the operations department and wider company.We will want you to join our journey towards a more environmentally and technically responsible and effective way of delivering energy systems, moving away from conventional processes into a more innovative and free‑thinking environment.Knowledge and QualificationsTechnical qualifications in an engineering/operations management or related discipline to degree level and/or equivalent experience relevant to the role.Proven experience in the operation of large projects, preferably in district heating, including; CHP, gas boilers, biomass boilers, energy centres etc.Understanding of BMS/SCADA systems and/or energy software programming.A willingness to travel regularly.On route to chartered status (CEng, IEng) from respected Engineering Institute.Recommended NEBOSH, IOSH or similar.SkillsExcellent understanding of and interest in ‘how systems / equipment work’, with practical experience in operating plants or delivering projects.Excellent communication skills for liaising with both internal & external stakeholders.Fully IT proficient; Word, PowerPoint, Excel, email systems etc as a minimum.Proven team leadership and people management skills preferred.Good organisational, time management and planning.Remuneration and InfoRemuneration: Competitive with market.Discretionary bonus based on individual and business performance.An inclusive culture that promotes diversity.Holidays 25 days a year plus statutory holidays - with an option to purchase, or sell, up to an additional 5 days per annual leave year.Pension plan provision.Private health care scheme available.Cycle to work scheme.Electric Car lease scheme.Health and well‑being support.Continuing learning and development opportunities. xpwpeyx Company PC/laptop, etc.Informal EnquiriesFor a discussion about this role please contact Matthew Gibson, email address: to arrange a suitable time for a discussion.#J-18808-Ljbffr
