This role leads the site Quality Management System, regulatory and customer compliance, and product conformance from New Product Introduction through production and in‑service support. The leader partners with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Programs, and Services to prevent defects at source, reduce escapes, and enable reliable delivery at the lowest total cost. Core responsibilities include building standard work and process controls, leading problem‑solving and continuous improvement, managing audits and certifications, elevating supplier quality performance, and developing a high‑performing Quality organization.The role models GE Aerospace Behaviors—Respect for People, Continuous Improvement, and Customer Driven—with unyielding integrity to protect flight safety and customer trust.Roles and ResponsibilitiesLeadership responsibility for the development, implementation, and execution of the site Quality Strategy, aligned to the Systems level strategic objectives.Manage a medium sized team of senior professionals and quality technicians. Requires specialized knowledge within the function, influencing the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and policy formulation.Own the Quality relationship with the customer at a senior level, including relationships with the largest Tier 0 airframe customers in the world, and ownership of customer scorecard performance outcomes.Direct and indirect accountability for relevant regulatory airworthiness approvals for the Cheltenham campus.Ownership includes both quality assurance and quality control, covering quality assurance of products, services, manufacturing processes, conformance in manufacturing, incoming goods control, product inspection, witness points, etc.Interpret simple internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes or services; stay informed of industry trends that may inform work.Use a high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering.Lead functional teams or projects related to complex technical issues and communicate difficult concepts to influence others related to investigation direction.Required QualificationsSignificant experience in Manufacturing & Production Quality from a highly regulated multinational company.Knowledge level comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college.Strong leadership experience in a Quality role is a must.Strong oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve problems.Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.Established project management skills.Experience and ability to communicate complex issues simply and concisely at the most senior level to drive successful outcomes for both GE and the Customer.Ability to provide clear leadership in unclear situations.Strong leadership through complex and ambiguous issues, with high familiarity using practical problem‑solving techniques.Experience working with complex, matrixed organizations and the ability to use effective problem solving and data to influence horizontally and vertically within the organization outside of your natural hierarchy.Proven track record of presenting and influencing at the most senior level.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant subject and/or related experience.Desired CharacteristicsStrong experience in Aerospace Quality is desired.Experience (and ideally accountability) working within Part 21 and Part 145 approved aviation businesses is desired.Flexible WorkingGE supports and encourages flexible working arrangements, where possible, and recognises the benefits to employees of having a positive work‑life balance.Total RewardAt GE Aerospace we understand the importance of Total Reward.
