Economic challenges, legislative change, an ageing population, and asset volatility pose a wide variety of risks and challenges to DC pension schemes. Trustees and scheme sponsors are faced with a range of decisions on difficult topics from managing risk to improving member engagement, setting an appropriate investment strategy to managing DC plan.This is a senior position within the DC Team, and you will be expected to drive new business, through maintaining and developing a pipeline of prospects, and contribute to the thought leadership and future strategy of the team.What the day will look likeYou will be collaborating with colleagues across a variety of clients in relation to the full spectrum of DC consulting services, with client interaction and client lead roles strongly encouraged and supported. You will be expected to own projects and drive these forwards (for example, consolidation exercises, review of DC delivery model, member engagement projects, DC contribution reviews, AVC reviews).Understanding and focus on delivering value and good member outcomes, working with clients to achieve this goalUsing your strong technical knowledge and experience to proactively build the DC expertise within the team, through training and mentoring of more junior colleagues as necessaryLeading relationships with clients (large to mid-market), with accountability for developing those relationships, for example through collaborating and introducing other Aon solution linesDirecting large client projectsOverall responsibility for quality of technical work delivered to clientsStrong participation in meetings externally and internally (showing role model behaviours)Contribute to the thought leadership and future strategy of the business (e.g. leading a specialist team or driving new propositions)Strong focus on growth and securing new business, prospecting for new business and leading client pitchesThe DC team is represented in several offices around the UK, and it is expected that your role would involve working with teams and advising clients across all of them.How this opportunity is differentAt Aon, not only will you be able to have important conversations around DC pensions, you will also have exposure to the complete employee benefits plan.Whatever clients are trying to achieve, whether it’s to increase staff retention, be an employer of choice, or build a cost‑effective benefits solution, our team of experienced, award‑winning benefits experts can help them, and you could be part of that team.Skills and experience that will lead to successPreviously worked in a DC pension environment either in an investment or non‑investment capacityTrack record in leading client relationshipsExperience of prospecting for new business and leading client pitchesStrong focus on growing the client base and revenueFCA or CFA approved status desiredStrong communication and interpersonal skills, and comfortable advising Trustee Boards and those in senior company roles at a strategic levelAble to encourage and develop other colleagues, and work well within diverse teamsGood project oversight, time management and organisation skillsSelf‑motivating and ambitiousThe range of skills required are quite diverse and we will consider candidates that are stronger in specific areas although the individual needs a sound understanding of DC issues.How we support our colleaguesIn addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage an inclusive workforce.
