We advise clients across all sectors including health, public sector, corporations and individuals. This is predominantly an advocacy based role and regular attendance at court hearings in Sussex is required but other courts also require us to attend hearings. You must be willing and able to travel to these courts for 9.30am attendance. We are currently recruiting for solicitor advocates or barristers to join our National Police team. In particular, we are looking for lawyers to advise, prepare and present civil protective orders in the Magistrates’ Court including Domestic Violence Protection Orders, Stalking Protection Orders, Sexual Harm Prevention Orders, Sexual Risk Orders, Anti-Social Behaviour injunctions and closure orders. This is predominantly an advocacy role and regular attendance at court is required.ResponsibilitiesManage a caseload of around 100 civil protective orders in a very busy team, with high volume, quick turnaround applicationsOpen files and draft all paperwork for the civil order applications, be responsible for your own management information data input completion, administration and diary keepingManaging and taking responsibility for shared inboxesTaking calls regularly to provide ad hoc advice and/or taking calls for team members on their court daysPresent cases in the Magistrates' courts/Crown Court if you have Higher Rights on a daily basis in person travelling to our designated courts for hearingsInteracting with client personnel and Respondents, defence solicitors, police officers and counselOrganise Case xpwpeyx Manager diary and action listsDraft various documentsAchieve set financial and chargeable targets and use a time recording application to record all work done on individual filesThis list is not intended to be exhaustive, and you will be expected to perform other duties and have other responsibilities that fall within the wider remit of the role.Seniority levelEntry levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionOther, Information Technology, and ManagementIndustriesLaw PracticeWest Sussex, England, United Kingdom#J-18808-Ljbffr
