The Solution Architect bridges the gap between a variety of key client stakeholders and technical delivery teams at Roke, delivering mission critical programmes in a calm & resilient manner.You will be at the forefront of evaluating technology options, defining solution blueprints, and providing technical leadership throughout the entire solution lifecycle. You will ensure that the solutions you are shaping align with enterprise architecture standards, strategic goals, and technology roadmaps.As a Solution Architect, you’ll ensure the integrity of cloud-based architectures without compromising the prosperity of the will be responsible forCollaborate closely with business analysts, product managers, and stakeholders to understand business needs, functional requirements, and non-functional requirements performance, security, scalability, reliability).Design end-to-end technical solutions that address NS challenges, considering application, data, infrastructure, integration, and security aspects.Research, evaluate, and recommend appropriate technologies, platforms, frameworks, and vendor products to be used within solutions.Create and maintain comprehensive solution architecture documentation, including diagrams (using standard notations like UML or ArchiMate), specifications, decision logs, and technical blueprints.Clearly articulate and present proposed solutions, technical options, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.Relevant skills (but not a requirement to have all of these)Proven track record of delivering digital programmes in the Public Sector, National Security or Defence domainsSubstantial experience in software development, systems engineering, or technical analysisDemonstrable experience in a Solution Architecture or senior technical design roleExperience designing solutions across multiple technology domains applications, data, infrastructure, security)Exposure to security risk analysis and management experience, related to technology platformsDetail orientated in nature, capable of assimilating large quantities of information and spotting risk / opportunityStrong understanding of software development methodologies Agile) and the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)Knowledge of common architectural patterns Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, N-Tier)Good understanding of cloud computing concepts and major platforms AWS)Strong understanding of security principles (authentication, authorization, encryption, network security)Built on over a 60-year heritage, Roke offers specialist knowledge in sensors, communications, cyber, and AI and ML.
