We’re looking for a Principal ICT Engineer with a significant background in IT Network DesignYou will be designing IT networks within buildings, implementing leading edge network designs and technologies into real world applicationsYou will liaise with clients and stakeholders to understand, develop, and interpret their requirements from concept to detailed design on multi-disciplinary design projectsCollaborate across WSP with specialists in areas like MEP, Smart, AV to develop holistic solutionsCreate future-ready buildings with the ICT foundation to deliver great user experiencesResponsibilitiesJoin and contribute to a team delivering ICT design, project management and delivery from inception to handoverDesign IT networks within buildings, using leading edge network designs and technologiesLiaise with clients and stakeholders to interpret requirements from concept to detailed designCollaborate with specialists across disciplines to develop holistic solutionsSupport creation of future-ready buildings with strong ICT foundationsYour TeamWork on a variety of projects with building owners, tenants, and developers worldwide, focusing on user experience, operational efficiency, and sustainabilityUK Building Services Team delivers high-rise, data centres, stadia, healthcare projects and moreAs leaders in Building Technology consultancy, we provide specialist ICT and Smart Consulting across the built environmentWhat We Will Be Looking For You To DemonstrateA passion for the future of technology in the built environmentExperience in ICT design and project delivery of medium to large building projectsAbility to produce detailed design and performance specifications, subject to reviewAbility to carry out feasibility studies for reviewExperience in producing detailed equipment schedules with discipline designsExperience providing design and technical advice on projects led by seniors or as discipline lead on smaller projectsAbility to create and interpret technical documents including reports, diagrams, drawings and specificationsAbility to work independently with initiative; or follow direction as neededAbility to communicate complex technical information to clientsUnderstanding of specialist building systems including MEP, BMS, fire safety, lighting and security, and modern smart buildingsRelevant degree for Chartership or accreditation route (CIBSE / IET / Engineering Council)Revit MEP training applied to the disciplineAny accredited network qualification (e.g., Cisco certifications or RCDD)Eligible to live and work in the UK and capable of achieving UK SC security clearanceIT & Communication SkillsIT Network Design (Passive or Active)Structured Cabling Design (Copper or Fibre)Wireless DesignServer Room DesignData Centre DesignTelephony DesignTelecommunications Infrastructure DesignElectronic SkillsELV systemsFire alarmsIntruder detectionAccess control & security systemsDisabled call systemsData cabling and outletsDon’t quite meet all the criteria?
