Focus Group is looking for a Solutions Engineer in the Aberdeen area to join our growing team in Scotland.About the RoleAs a Solutions Engineer, you'll be the technical expert our clients rely on. You'll split your time between remote support and onsite delivery, working with everyone from ambitious SMEs to large enterprises. This isn't a desk job—you'll lead project implementations, troubleshoot complex issues, and mentor other engineers while continuously expanding your technical expertise.What You'll Be Doing:Leading the delivery of IT projects from small upgrades to major infrastructure transformationsActing as the go-to expert in your specialism, handling escalations and complex technical challengesDesigning and implementing best-practice solutions across networking, cloud, voice, or server infrastructureConducting site surveys, audits, and technical scoping sessions with clientsCollaborating with project managers, 3rd line engineers, and service desk teamsDeveloping training materials and documentation to share your expertise across the businessBuilding lasting relationships with clients through exceptional technical delivery and customer serviceWhat We're Looking ForYou'll need:Proven experience in IT & Telecoms support or delivery rolesSubject matter expert-level knowledge in at least one of these areas: Networking: VLANs, routing, wireless, Ekahau, Meraki, SonicWall, Cisco, ArubaVoice Systems: SIP, hosted voice, Gamma, LG, Mitel, AvayaServer & Storage: Windows Server, Hyper-V, VMware, M365, AzureCloud Technologies: M365, Azure, Intune, SharePointExcellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detailA full UK driving licence and flexibility for occasional overnight stays on larger projectsStrong troubleshooting abilities and a genuine passion for staying ahead of technology trendsBonus points for:Experience in a managed service provider environmentIndustry certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, Meraki, SonicWall, Aruba)Active Microsoft certifications (MS101, MS100, AZ104, AZ140)Why Focus Group?Focus Group is a 1,300-strong Microsoft technology partner and managed service provider backed by HG Capital.
