Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay rangeDirect message the job poster from Net Zero SearchHead of Growth – Sustainability / EnergyRole:The head of growth will be accountable for the execution of a commercial growth strategy, taking leadership and operational oversight for the development, stakeholder and project management of new pilot schemes from conception to mobilisation and monetisation.Working with the commercial director and growth manager, you will convert the commercial strategy into a long-term plan to secure sustainable income. You will consider all areas of potential growth in terms of products, services and markets to deliver the agreed scale of ambition defined in the business plan. You will drive long-term projects and delivery to secure multi-year sustainable income. The role holder will accelerate growth, drive efficient practices and expand our reputation for innovation, service quality and exceptional customer service, while remaining aligned to our core objectives.Expectations of the head of growthSell and evolve existing services and products into new markets and sectors, working in alignment with operational and existing delivery teams to deliver a cross offering.Create, develop and pilot new commercial ventures, from concept to mobilisation and operational delivery, to provide a sustainable future revenue.Identify, build and secure income for new services, diversifying to support a sustainable future aligned to our goal.Create, evolve and scope new services and products supported by rigorous research and intelligence from analysing relevant markets, competitors and geographies.Use learning from the development of products and services to inform new commercial direction and activities aligned to our target sectors.Project management and business developmentBuild appropriate capacity and capability to deliver these growth initiatives, with flexibility to maintain multiple projects and services at different lifecycle points and adapt to different funding landscapes.Create innovation in the new services and products developed, and optimise available tools and technology, where it is appropriate to drive better outcomes for the fuel poor householders we support.Deliver effective and efficient operational programmes of work. Track KPIs and report on the effectiveness of growth strategies, ensuring continuous improvement.Deliver an approach which is agile, able to pursue multiple growth initiatives concurrently while still delighting the potential customer or client.Mobilise new services, embed operational systems, and recruit delivery teams as needed.Stakeholder engagement and impactBuild robust, evidence-based business cases for proposed growth initiatives.Build lasting relationships which support us in our target markets, building and sustaining our reputation for quality, support and delivering relevant and robust solutions.Work to deliver services and products, enhancing our reach, opportunities and visibility.RequirementsProven experience in business development, commercial strategy, or growth leadership — ideally within the energy, sustainability, or social enterprise sectors.Target driven, with a demonstrable track record of designing and scaling growth strategies, managing partnerships and negotiating agreements.Strategic thinker with a hands‑on mindset – comfortable with ambiguity, able to thrive in a scaling environment and turn strategy into execution.Excellent leadership, communication and collaboration skills.
