With unrivalled sector insight and a reputation for producing innovative solutions, we offer a stimulating and rewarding environment in which to work.PurposeOur growing focus on water and environmental solutions, alongside a wider array of consultancy services, means we are seeking to appoint an experienced Principal Environmental Consultant with both a strong technical background and the ability to manage projects throughout their lifecycle.Key competencies and experienceWe are looking to appoint a Principal Environmental Consultant who has relevant experience in the water sector and beyond. Professional experience within consultancy is required. Essential is significant understanding and experience in a relevant water related environmental technical discipline, to include one or more of: water quality (marine and freshwater), surface water management and hydro-ecology, and should ideally be able to demonstrate the following:Competence and experience in applying detailed knowledge of water quality chemistry.Understanding of the links between water quality and aquatic ecology.Experience of environmental discharge permitting.Understanding of the sources, fates, effects, and assessment of pollutants.Understanding of remediation techniques for contaminated ground and surface water.Ability to clearly present complex technical information visually and orally.Experience of technical engagement with UK environmental regulatorsWe also require the following key competencies and experience:Excellent understanding of the UK water industry and its regulation.Ability to manage technically complex large water environmental projects.Strong project and programme management/direction skills to ensure a high level of service.Experience in managing proposals and winning work of a sizeable value.People management experience, involving supporting the development of staff through mentoring.An environmentally related degree (ideally with a post-graduate qualification also).A clean full UK driving licence.Skills and behavioursExcellent organisational, communication and presentation skills.Collaborative people manager who has ability to develop and support others.Ability to effectively manage resources and prioritise own and others’ workload.Effective multi-stakeholder management skills, including internally and externally.Ability to prioritise and manage significant operational demands and pressures.Client-facing, opportunistic and comfortable with developing new work.Keen to develop and own segments of our service offering.Working with RicardoYou will be warmly welcomed into our workplace where every voice matters.
