All the relevant skills, qualifications and experience that a successful applicant will need are listed in the following description.Role OverviewThe Regional General Counsel will be a key member of GE Aerospace's leadership team for Europe and Africa, leading a team of experienced legal counsels and professionals primarily in support of the Commercial Engines and Services business in region, while also providing legal, regulatory and compliance support to the broader GE Aerospace team. You will work closely with business leaders, customers, local entities and other stakeholders to deliver outstanding service while providing professional development and career growth opportunities for your team. This role is set apart by the opportunity to marry leadership with transactional work and forge strong partnerships across region and globally across function and business.ResponsibilitiesLead, motivate and inspire the team of legal counsel and professionals who support CESDraft, negotiate and advise on a variety of Commercial Engines and Services transactions with customers, strategic partners and suppliersProvide ongoing legal support and perform risk control duties to business activities and operating affiliates with respect to various general operating matters such as commercial disputes, aviation regulatory matters, controllership, company secretarial duties, compliance reviews, trainings and other issues affecting the business and legal entities across regionServe as a business partner, applying astute business and legal judgment to issues requiring legal, reputational or compliance attentionCoaching and develop othersSupport and develop external legal networks with customer, partner and supplier legal counsel and build relationships with key external counsel across the regionLead a direct team, attract, develop, grow and retain outstanding talent within the function and across the businessQualificationsMajor post qualification experience, with emphasis on commercial/corporate transactions, including cross‑borderSubstantial experience in structuring, negotiating, documenting and closing commercial contracts and transactionsJuris Doctorate, LLB/LLM or equivalent from an accredited law schoolAdmitted practice in England and Wales, New York or other relevant jurisdictionProven leader who can influence across the matrix xpwpeyx Deep industry experience in aerospace and defenceStrong executive presence, sound judgment, and ability to advise at the highest levels of the organizationPro‑active, imaginative leader capable of operating as a member of the senior cross‑functional business team in regionAbility to interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products and processesAbility and willingness to build strong external networks in support of the businessAbility to drive continuous improvement across the teamGE supports and encourages flexible working arrangements, where possible, and recognises the benefits to employees of having a positive work‑life balance.#J-18808-Ljbffr
