Job descriptionNot sure what skills you will need for this opportunity Simply read the full description below to get a complete picture of candidate requirements.Our client, a global leader in energy and construction are currently hiring for a Senior Legal Counsel to join their global legal team and be responsible for providing legal and compliance support to our UK and Ireland operations.In this role you will be responsible for delivery of legal, regulatory and compliance services. You will operate as a key business partner to provide strategic support and advice, working on a wide range of commercial and compliance matters.ResponsibilitiesPreparing, reviewing and supporting negotiations of a number of contracts including industry standard energy and construction type contracts and distribution and channel terms and conditionsProviding distribution and channel antitrust and competition regulatory advicePreparing templatesProactively identify, define, and mitigate risks by contributing to and implementing policies and proceduresManaging claims and litigationHelping to ensure compliance with applicable laws and Group policiesProviding training and facilitating our legal compliance programsOther local legal support as reasonably required by Legal ManagementQualificationsA fully qualified lawyer authorised to practice in the UK or Ireland with a Master / Bachelor of Laws degree or equivalent and at least 5 years' relevant PQE in commercial law.Fluent in English (written and verbal) with great technological skillsWorked in an international company and has a proven track record operating in an inhouse environmentWork proactively and closely with the business stakeholders, to identify and analyse critical commercial and legal issuesApply legal expertise to deliver solutionsConfident with fantastic interpersonal skills, commercially minded, highly organized and able to work effectively in teamsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAble to work independently and manage large volumes of workLocationThis role supports a flexible hybrid model with some working from home options available. You should expect regular travel within the UK&I zone and occasional travel to other locations in Europe as business need is determined.
