Research from the IoPPN has made, and continues to make, an impact on how we understand, prevent and treat mental illness, neurological conditions and other conditions that affect the brain.   The Department of Psychological Medicine focuses on the interface between psychiatry and medicine, psychiatry and occupation, psychiatry and the military, and psychiatry in different settings. The disorders of interest are those of the common mental disorders, such as depression, anxiety, perinatal psychiatry, psychological oncology, eating disorders and stress related disorders.  About the role The Stress, Psychiatry and Immunology (SPI) Lab, is looking for an Engagement Administrator with relevant experience to join their team. The postholder will sit within the department of Psychological Medicine in the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience and will have a role focussed on editorial, copywriting, and research dissemination. The role focuses on research dissemination and science communication for the digital mental health magazine Inspire the Mind, run by the SPI lab. The post holder will have the opportunity to work as an editor, copyeditor, writer, and social media content creator for Inspire the Mind. The post holder will learn how to use our website platform, tag key mental health content, and will contribute to web optimisation efforts. The postholder will also create engaging content across our social media platforms to disseminate evidence-based mental health content for diverse audiences. The postholder will support the Engagement and Partnerships Manager with administrative tasks and dissemination activities for various research projects currently underway within the SPI Lab.  This is a part time post (14 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract for 1 year. About us To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience: Essential criteria  Is working towards or holds a relevant BSc degree (e.g., psychology)  Experience in writing and editing blog articles (ideally within a mental health research setting), with demonstrated ability to translate complex topics in accessible language for a lay audience. Excellent editing, copyediting, research, and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.   Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex mental health topics in lay terms through multi-media content, using platforms like Canva and Microsoft 365 (or willingness to learn).  Experience or willingness to learn how to create social media content for the purpose of educating around mental health and research.  Desirable criteria Passion for mental health and science: shows a genuine interest in mental health, neuroscience, and related scientific topics, bringing enthusiasm to content creation.    Work well individually and as part of a team.   Experience of content planning, and able to prioritise workloads across multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines.    Prior experience working within a mental health lab or research environment is an asset.  Downloading a copy of our Job Description Full details of the role and the skills, knowledge and experience required can be found in the Job Description document, provided at the bottom of the page. xpwpeyx This document will provide information of what criteria will be assessed at each stage of the recruitment process.
