You will work collaboratively with a range of technical specialists on a broad range of projects, lead and coordinate Environmental Impact Assessments and related deliverables, work closely with clients, develop new areas of business and mentor others in the team. With your specialism in environmental management or your technical or sustainability expertise, your work could involve protected species, pollution, surface water and materials management, air quality or noise, and in some of the world’s busiest and most beautiful locations.Role accountabilitiesLead coordination and delivery of environmental work undertaken by multi-disciplinary teams, influencing project development and delivering optimal environmental outcomesUndertake own work to an excellent standard, and review the work of othersWork in partnership with other members of the Impact Assessment Team across the UKProactively manage selected projects or components of projects, taking responsibility for resource allocation, managing subcontractors and quality assuranceLead and support tender proposals and bids – working as part of a project winning teamProvide environmental advice and support to clients, project managers and colleaguesEngage with consultees and stakeholdersDevelop outstanding reports – an ability to summarise and explain outcomes to non‑technical audiences will be criticalManage projects, overseeing performance on technical, quality, commercial and health and safety aspectsQualifications & ExperienceGood knowledge of EIA practices and procedures and a solid understanding of environmental and sustainability principles and environmental technical specialismsExperience across a range of project types, ideally within the energy, residential/mixed use/ regeneration sector, as well as in major infrastructure projects including rail and highwaysProven experience of managing and coordinating EIA screening and scoping activities and Environmental Statements, including the technical review of specialist chaptersPractical working knowledge of the UK planning system and consenting processStrong report writing, verbal and presentation skills with experience in reviewing the work of others to ensure qualityExperience in multi-disciplinary coordination and leadership of projects, with good project management and technical skillsExperience in consulting and negotiating with planning authorities, regulators and stakeholdersAbility to work as part of an established team, supervising members of staff as applicableCommercial expertise, including forecasting, project management and quality assuranceRelevant degree or equivalent qualification, preferably with chartered status or working towardsA valid UK driving licenceDesired: Experience in the delivery of SEA and/or Integrated Impact Assessment (IIA) projectsDesired: Knowledge and application experience of sustainability, waste or carbon assessmentsWhy Arcadis?We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
