As a Project Engineering Team Lead you will be responsible for leading a team of Broadcast Project Engineers as well as providing the technical expertise to bring a variety of projects from Design through to fully supported Operation. Projects will range over the whole of Sky's Broadcast infrastructure from Content Production, through Post-Production and Transmission, to the various linear and non-linear delivery platforms. You will be required to manage the schedule of work of the Project Engineering resources and mentoring new engineers.What you'll do:Take ownership of the Project Engineer's work schedule in conjunction with Line Manager and Wiring Team Lead, while liaising with Project Managers to keep this up to date.Monitor workload of the team, and level of staff, assisting with recruiting as required.Implementing broadcast technical solutions and integrating with existing systems on the broadcast platform.Maintain an effective communication system with key stakeholders, Support and Project team and ensure that an effective and regular communication structure exists.Produce and update high quality documentation detailing the technical architecture and connectivity for the project, including system drawings and detailed cabling documentation. Provide Team Leader function for Project Engineers and contribute to team initiatives and planning.What you'll bring:Experience in working in a lead/supervisor engineering role.Solid understanding of technical elements of broadcast television – encompassing both current requirements and emerging technologies with a knowledge of MPEG/DVB standards, IP, Production, Studio, Video, Audio and control systems.A good understanding of IT and IP Networking for fault finding and to assist in resolving issues.Excellent application of experience to technical challenges, both for fault finding during system implementation and testing, and for devising design changes to existing broadcast implementations.Highly competent with broadcast technical testing equipment, and Autocad for technical schematic drawing.Team Overview – Content, Tech & Innovation: We use the latest tech to create and distribute the best entertainment.
