The role is based in Teddington, the HQ of LGC. The Teddington freehold site is approximately 8 acres including the main building, 100,00sq ft of primarily lab and office space with up to 650 occupants.  Job Purpose The role is a part of the Facilities Team that manages the site with the key purpose : To provide a safe and effective working environment for the occupants To highlight and deliver cost effective solutions to ensure the continuous operation of site. To manage compliance of the site with regards to basic industry workplace regulations (e.g. fire, water, electrical, environmental etc) To support the business in developing or evolving the space footprint to accommodate changes in business operations To ensure appropriate and effective delivery of outsourced services through monitoring and robust contract management. Key Responsibilities Management of PPM and reactive management on site Management of Science Services Manager Management of Maintenance Contractor Oversee project management of fit outs, renovations and moves and changes in line with business requirements. Operation of frontline maintenance management system (BMS) Management of Shire software, including management of existing PPM’s, asset lists Management of Helpdesk requests by email and telephone Preparation and goods receipting of orders using the LGC’s purchasing software Ensuring housekeeping and cleanliness is delivered to the highest standards Out of hours support where required Undertake additional duties as required Knowledge, Experience and Technical Skills 7 years plus previous engineering or facilities background preferred Previous line and contract Management experience Working knowledge of AutoCAD Working knowledge of Cooling Towers and Chillers Good mechanical and electrical skills Good communication skills and work well within a small team Good time management skills Working knowledge of HVAC systems and laboratory set up Good knowledge of health and safety, environment and building regulations
