We enjoy working on interesting problems with smart people and understand that if it was easy, it wouldn't always be fun.What we're looking forThis role provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced industry professional to join our Energy Team, managing and further developing third party IT contracts to ensure delivery of our global business aims. The successful candidate will have a detailed understanding of the energy market and have played a key role in transformation programmes. The role requires a detailed understanding of data exchange mechanisms, relevant regulatory frameworks and proven relationship management ability. The successful candidate will be accountable and responsible for managing IT third party system providers instrumental to the success of UW Energy Team as well as other specific commercial energy contracts.What you're responsible forYou will be responsible for contract managing the IT SaaS provides including DCC adaptor and market messaging providersYou will be responsible for designing and embedding a new governance structure You will help design and implement a new Target Operating Model which supports UW providing services more widely across the industryYou will oversee project mobilisation and implementation when business needs dictateWorking alongside the Senior Contracts and Commercial Manager and the Operations team to lead procurements for specific business needYou will support procurement activity to achieve optimum risk allocation to maximise commercials following a clearly governed structureYou will work alongside the Legal team to shape contract strategy and rationalise business contracts Creating compelling, well-structured, accurate reports, documents and presentations and effectively delivering to all levels of the business (both internally and externally).You will support development of best practice across the organisation supporting subject matter experts embedded within the businessYou will shape and challenge business strategy utilising market and supplier insight.A bit more about youPrevious industry experience of contract management within a utility businessGood understanding of energy industry processes Knowledge of project management and continuous improvement processesWillingness to travel across the UKIt is essential that you are passionate about the energy industry and have proven relationship transformation capabilitiesTrack record in delivering against stretching objectivesExcellent proven commercial and contractual acumen and solid negotiation and dispute resolution skills.Outstanding communication skillsSelf-starter - resilient and tenacious under pressure.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in relevant subject (finance, business studies)Prince 2 or equivalentLean Six SigmaCIPs membership (MCIP's) at Level 3 or equivalent experienceWhat we're offeringThe opportunity to join an established but dynamic business that's going through significant change and still has huge growth potential.A very competitive basic salary, some great benefits and the potential to join our share option scheme.Get in touchIf this role sounds like it was made for you, then do please get in touch.And if it doesn't but you still like the sound of UW, then drop us a line anyway - we're hiring in all sorts of positions across the business.
