Go back East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust Clinical Support Worker - Theatres The closing date is 07 December 2025 We are recruiting for Clinical Support Workers - Theatres who shareour vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. You must be 18+ to undertake this post. You will work alongside Registered Nurses and Operating Department Practitioners, get Theatre ready, making sure the correct equipment is available while maintaining a sterile environment. You will assist the registered practitioner, ensuring excellent patient care is given, that align with our trust values. This role could see you work in any of the Theatre areas, both at the Lister or QE2. You would help in setting up your allocated Theatre, making sure all the equipment needed for the day is ready and available. You will also be trained in the Pre-Op area, where you will take basic patient observations, and stay with them until they are called to Theatre. Main duties of the job Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in a virtual information and guidance session on Wednesday 17th December 2025. This sessions will be conducted at 12:00pm & 4.30pm. We look forward to engaging with as many candidates as possible. The session will provide comprehensive details regarding the role, offer interview advice, outline the assessment day, and explain the overall recruitment process. Person Specification Qualifications / Training GCSEs (or equivalent qualification or standard) in English and Math Care Certificate Health and Social Care Level 2 Previous Experience Experience of healthcare or care work Experience of working with the general public or a range of different people Skills Ability to communicate effectively people with varying levels of understanding Evidence of being self-motivated Evidence of working effectively as part of a team Basic IT skills - ability to use keyboard or willingness to develop Excellent time management and organisational skills Ability to work in a busy, sometimes pressurised environment Ability to work to deadlines Ability to use judgement on when to escape issues and problems Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to use them to communicate effectively with patients within a multi-disciplinary team Knowledge Awareness of clinical setting and clinical care Knowledge of a range of clinical procedures Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
