Main duties of the job Post-holders will be radiographers who are keen to be part of an imaging service with a difference. Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust's (CWHFT) imaging directorate is going through a period of transformational change where innovation is at the forefront of what we do. Modality exposure General radiography OPG Mammography CT MRI Fluoroscopy Interventional Cardiac catheter Lab Ultrasound BMD Nuclear Medicine, CWH site Core hours The successful applicants will be required to work a minimum of 37.5 hours per week. Core hours will be worked on a rotational basis, between 8am and 8pm Monday to Sunday, night shifts and on‑call. Demonstrate perspective taking when dealing with patients, customers and fellow staff alike so that all views are understood and considered. Undertake all radiographic duties efficiently and to the highest quality standards. Ensure that all patients receive the best possible standard of care. Commit to ensuring own development by exposing self to all necessary modalities at West Middlesex University Hospital or Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. Be conversant with procedures in general and screening rooms, ED, mobile and theatre radiography. Additionally, the post holder will be expected to become proficient in the more specialised techniques e.g. CT, IR and MRI. Assist with practical training of junior staff and student radiographers, acting as a role model through leading by example. Communicate with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the directorate. Ensure that Radiation Protection guidelines, IR(ME)R, IRR, etc. guidelines and local rules are strictly adhered to. Ensure that all guidelines relating to staff and patient safety are adhered to whilst in the MRI unit. Ensure that the rules and procedures of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 are strictly adhered to, and that all working areas are kept clean and safe. Participate in departmental quality assurance programmes as required. Proactively demonstrate interest in developing oneself professionally by proposing QI projects, collecting data and presenting at inter/national conferences. Participate in research studies conducted at CWHFT, including those as part of Imperial College. Report and record all equipment faults as well as be able to assist with the diagnosis and remedy of routine faults. Participate in the on call and stand by rotas as required. Offer an initial assessment and interpretation of images produced by themselves or more junior staff in the course of their role. Comply with, and be able to demonstrate and instruct, safe manual handling techniques. Comply with and be able to demonstrate safe infection control measures. Strive to achieve competencies required to progress to band 7 radiographer role. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability with rostering requirements to ensure a robust and safe imaging service across the Trust. Maintain a high level of commitment to, and take responsibility for continuing professional development (CPD). The post holder is encouraged by the department to attend both personal and professional development activities that assist in their role and the service. The post holder will be required to actively participate in a periodic professional development review, in accordance with Trust guidelines. Undertake any other duties which may be appropriate to the post.
