Job TitleTree Surgeon / Arborist LocationEastleigh, Hampshire Salary£35,800 / Annum DurationPerm – 37 Hours per week, after a 12 week temp basis About the EmployerWe are looking to fill the role of an Tree Surgeon within a housing environment, Our client is ambitious and has a huge 5 year plan which we are seeking this key member of the team to assist with, their main aim is to create a sustainable future for social housing, building new homes and investing in existing ones creating vibrant, thriving communities. In the role you will have the opportunity to use decay detection equipment including the Picus Sonic Tomograph and the Resi PD 400 which will allow you to develop your inspection and analysis skills There will be an opportunity to undertake the Level 6 Professional Arboriculturist apprenticeship through this client Key Responsibilities Deliver inspections, reports, and arboricultural advice in line with current legislation, best practices, and internal policies. Provide expert guidance to both internal teams and external stakeholders on the management and protection of trees in a variety of settings. Ensure all reactive and planned arboricultural work is delivered efficiently, professionally, and cost-effectively. Analyse data from tree inspections and other sources to support strategic decision-making, including responses to issues such as ash dieback and other threats. Oversee and coordinate contractors, managing works orders and ensuring compliance with standards and value for money. Support projects across different service areas, contributing to policy development and ensuring the protection of tree assets. Promote joined up working and knowledge sharing across departments and external partners. What You’ll Bring A relevant arboricultural qualification (minimum Level 4) or equivalent experience. In-depth knowledge of tree health, risk-based inspections, and industry best practices (BS3998, BS5837). Experience managing trees across a variety of landscapes and landownership scenarios. Proven ability to manage contractors and monitor performance against service level agreements. Proficiency with GIS / mapping and asset management systems. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, both written and face-to-face. Confidence liaising with local authorities, councils, and other external bodies. A commitment to health, safety, and delivering high-quality customer service.
