Job Summary Bands and hours: Hysteroscopy Nurse Specialist – Band 7 – 37.5 hours per week. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Nurse Hysteroscopist to join our Gynaecology Outpatient department on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis. The successful post holder will be qualified to practice as an independent nurse hysteroscopist in accordance with the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopists (BSGE) and will work closely with the service lead and wider gynaecology team to ensure delivery of high‑quality, accessible care for women requiring hysteroscopic examination. Main duties of the job Act as an autonomous practitioner performing diagnostic hysteroscopy procedures using a critical decision‑making process to determine case management and to perform treatment procedures. Formulate the development of clinical guidelines for all aspects of clinical practice within the speciality, in conjunction with senior nursing and consultant staff. Maintain an independent caseload of patients, performing diagnostic and therapeutic hysteroscopy procedures while applying evidence‑based practice. Actively contribute to audit and research activities related to hysteroscopy practice. Qualifications & Experience Essential Registered Nurse (Level 1) with postgraduate diploma/degree level education or equivalent experience. Evidence of continuing professional development. BSGE accredited Hysteroscopist. Experience as an accredited Hysteroscopist. Substantial experience working in gynaecology. Good written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated prioritisation skills. Desirable Gynaecology course. Leadership qualification. Investigation and local resolution of incidents and informal complaints. Research and audit experience. Excellent interpersonal skills. Working Pattern and Details Fixed term: 12 months. Full‑time, flexible working. Band: 7. Pay scheme: Agenda for Change.
