You will need very good communication skills to network closely with other departments and multidisciplinary teams, and excellent patient care to manage your caseload of patients. Main duties of the job Your role will be to access, plan, implement, evaluate, holistic, high quality and individualised care which respects our patient personal dignity and beliefs whilst maintaining a safe working environment for patients, visitors and staff and promoting effective communication within the care team and with colleagues, patients, relatives and visitors. You will act as a mentor to students and newly qualified staff including teaching and assessing, within their realm of competence, upholding the philosophy of evidence based practice and assist in the management of the ward budget and ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained advising of any shortfalls and taking action appropriate to their level of expertise. In this role you will assist your Senior staff with service development and the overall implementation of relevant policies within the department, supporting the Senior Management team with formulation of long term strategic plans which require flexibility impacting across the whole Trust. Person Specification Experience NMC Registered Nurse with one years experience Ability to maintain and improve care standards Ability to challenge unacceptable behaviours and promote professional values Previous Endoscopy work experience Experience of caring for patients undergoing Endoscopy procedures Experience in Medical and Surgical Nursing Clinical skills in cannulation, blood taking and IV medication administration Experience Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills Ability to prioritise tasks and work within good time management skills Basic computer skills Familiar with MSE IT systems Flexible and positive approach to work Experience in teaching and understanding of continuous professional development Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
