Variable Hours Tutor of PhysicsHours: Part-time variableHourly rate: £25.25 (unqualified) or £26.38 (qualified) inclusive of holiday pay.Plus membership of Teachers' Pension Scheme.* the base hourly rate is £16.29 (unqualified) / £17.02 (qualified) per hour, plus payment for holiday and preparation and marking time, which gives an approximate hourly rate of £25.25 (unqualified) / £26.38 (qualified) per hour.About the roleWe require an outstanding teacher of physics to join our science team, to teach Physics on our science courses from January 2026.We can offer you the support to develop your career and the opportunity to teach on a wide range of popular and successful physics courses. The majority of our courses are for students aged 16‑19 years old, with additional programmes for adults and apprentices. You will find our students enthusiastic and well‑behaved, keen to learn and progress in their studies.Course programmes include A Level and Level 3 BTEC National diploma, Access to higher education, HNC and apprenticeships.You will join a team of experienced physicists who work in close collaboration with the rest of the science department and other areas of the college such as maths. Lessons are delivered in modern and well‑resourced physics laboratories, supported by a specialist physics technician.About the personYou will be an enthusiastic and student‑centred teacher with a passion for physics.This post is suitable for experienced teachers or those starting their career. Applicants must have a physics or related degree qualification together with an appropriate teaching qualification.We would consider an applicant without a teaching qualification if they have suitable alternative experience either in industry or in higher education.
