Role Overview Community Payback Supervisors directly supervise groups of offenders serving a community sentence, ensuring tasks are completed safely and effectively. The role includes managing work placements, providing pro‑social motivation, and ensuring health & safety compliance. Drivers with a full UK Manual Driving Licence are required to transport service users and equipment as necessary. Responsibilities Conduct Pre‑Placement Unpaid Work Induction sessions. Lead daily "tool box" talks to explain tasks, safe working practice and motivate service users to complete assignments. Follow work directions within the project placement file. Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed, report risks, complete required paperwork, and contribute to the review of placement risk assessments. Ensure that appropriate tools, equipment and supplies are available and that safe-use instructions are followed by service users. Conduct dynamic risk assessments to identify and manage hazards. Use pro‑social and motivational techniques to encourage disciplined work completion. Monitor attendance of service users in agency placements and promote successful completion. Maintain all service users' records in the case management system accurately and timely. Work toward accreditation as a workplace assessor or deliver training assessments for selected service users. Promote Community Payback with colleagues, external agencies, Sentencers and the public. Qualifications & Experience Full UK Manual Driving Licence; automatic licences will not be accepted. Experience of practical skills in a supervisory or workplace setting. Evidence of teamwork, constructive supervision, and problem‑solving within a workplace. Knowledge of safety at work, public protection and risk of harm. Basic knowledge of First Aid and willingness to undertake further training. Desire to pursue IOSH Level 3 or equivalent training and to achieve a Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) or equivalent. Ability to model pro‑social attitudes and behaviours, and strong written communication skills. Working Pattern Flexible hours are required. The role may involve weekend and occasional evening work; higher rates apply for work on weekend days.
