Hillsideis looking to recruit a Nights Support Worker to join their team. Role type: Full-time Hours: 42 hours per week. 10pm - 8am. Weekend work is included. Pay Rate: £13.20 per hour Priory Hillside is a residential service, located just outside of Burnley. We provide support to individuals who are on the autistic spectrum or who have a learning disability. We also cater for those who may have a mental health diagnosis, including a personality disorder. Set within a beautiful rural setting, in the South Pennines area, we aim to help residents create and achieve goals, in order to lead a fulfilled and enriched life. It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support. What you’ll be doing You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents' wellbeing. Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, but you'll also have a friendly, patient and positive approach to work. As a Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents. You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives. Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals Assistance and support to attend medical appointments Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth What you’ll bring to the role The ideal candidate: Qualifications and Skills Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature Empathy, understanding and patience Ability to work on your own and as part of a team Ability to understand and follow policies and procedure The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges Competent in verbal and written English A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential To be considered for this role, we require you to have the right to work in the UK.
