The Environment Agency protect and improve the environment. Climate Change is the biggest risk we face. Field Operations protect people and the environment by maintaining and operating our flood and coastal risk management assets and responding to incidents. Field Operations responsibilities Leading and working together with a team and being outside in all weathers; Coaching and mentoring Team Members and colleagues to increase skills, knowledge and experience; Your team will use a variety of tools and equipment to carry out tasks such as small projects and operation of plant and equipment; Providing response to flood and environmental incidents inside and outside of normal working hours by participating, training and exercising. Deploying sandbags, temporary barriers, mobile pumps and pollution equipment; Carrying out regular checks and inspections of equipment, such as tools, personal protective equipment and vehicles We don’t just talk about diversity; we seek it, embrace it, and live it, for the benefit of our staff, our communities, and our environment. Experience/skills required You should have the necessary practical skills and an understanding in environmental awareness as well as a hands on approach; Some experience in asset operation or maintenance/incident response/use of equipment/tools is an advantage (however full training will be provided); You will be trained and supported to contribute to our response to incidents inside and outside of normal working hours; You should have an understanding of site health and safety requirements; Literacy and numeracy skills are required; Have the ability to carry out tasks and answer queries effectively; Competent in using IT devices, such as an iPad, and willing to learn our in-house systems; Undertake specialist training as and when required; People management skills are desirable. #J-18808-Ljbffr
