We are committed to delivering high-quality education and fostering a supportive learning environment. Job Description We are seeking passionate careers and employability coaches. The Progression Coach will play a key role in ensuring that young people on LSST's FE programs receive the personalized guidance, encouragement, and employability support they need to achieve sustained positive outcomes. You will work directly with learners to help them identify career goals, build employability skills, and progress into work, apprenticeships, or further study. You will also provide pastoral support, help remove barriers to success, and celebrate learner achievements. Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one and group coaching to support young learners throughout their FE journey. Help learners identify personal, educational, and career goals, and develop clear action plans for achieving them. Deliver employability and progression sessions including job search skills, CV writing, interview techniques, and workplace confidence. Offer motivational and pastoral support to help learners overcome barriers such as confidence, motivation, or external challenges. Celebrate learner success and help plan next steps into work, apprenticeships, or further learning. Track and record learner progression, attendance, and achievements to ensure positive outcomes and program completion. Support learners to access suitable vacancies, training, and development opportunities aligned with their goals. Maintain strong links with tutors, the Data and Compliance Officer, and the Head of FE to ensure a joined-up approach to learner progress. Contribute to LSST's FE performance targets including retention, progression, and learner satisfaction. Work closely with tutors to identify learners requiring additional coaching or support. Liaise with local employers and partners to identify opportunities for learners. Contribute to learner celebration events and promotional activities (e.g. success stories, newsletters, images for publicity). Participate in regular team meetings and staff development sessions to ensure high-quality learner support. Uphold LSST's safeguarding, Prevent, and wellbeing policies, ensuring all concerns are appropriately reported. Maintain accurate and confidential records of learner support interactions. Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion across all aspects of learner engagement. Ensure compliance with data protection and quality assurance requirements. Person Specifications Experience of supporting young people (1624) to achieve progression into work, training, or further learning. Strong communication, coaching, and mentoring skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Empathetic and patient, with a genuine commitment to learner success. Ability to motivate and inspire learners who may face barriers to engagement. Confident using IT systems for recording and tracking learner progress. Team-oriented approach with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Desirable Experience in Further Education, Skills Bootcamps, or employability programs. Qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG), Coaching, or Mentoring (e.g. Level 3 or 4). Knowledge of local labor market opportunities in the West Midlands.
