Commercial Asset Management is the focus on protecting clients, and their investors’ interests by maximising projects net asset value. Enforcing contractual rights, optimising value from the supply chain, tendering and procurement of new agreements, identifying opportunities, and commercial considerations to enhance operations of assets, with the overall goal to increase value (not necessarily export).This role will cover all technologies managed by RES including Solar, Wind and Energy Storage. Duties will include owner interaction, contract management, supporting complex insurance claims, using and creating tools for the analysis of projects, forecasting performance of assets, and managing continuous improvement. The duties with this role will suit a team player who is flexible and initiative, and able to help implement new systems of working. This position may include travel a couple of times a year within Northern Europe.AccountabilitiesSupporting the Northern Europe asset management business to increase the net asset value of renewable energy assets, which may include Wind, Solar and Energy StorageProvide high quality management of on-going contracts with our existing suppliers, consultants, and sub-contractorsManaging a portfolio of renewable energy project contracts through the contract lifecycleLeading tenders for new services and renewals, including contract negotiations on a variety of different operational contracts, reviewing and drafts of terms, and liaising with clients and their respective legal teamsReviewing performance of contracts, including supplier performance calculations and calculations of bonus or liquidated damagesWorking alongside key stakeholders to resolve commercial issues, including KPIs (including contractual liquidated damages and bonus payments), attending supplier meetings to discuss performanceManaging aspects of the commercial framework of the project, including leading on insurance claims, warranty claims, and material disputesResponsible for management of a client’s portfolio of contracts, attending client meetings on a regular basis, reporting on status of portfolio, and proving contract and commercial advice as requiredReviewing of contractual terms to support and advise asset managers on specific queries, including upgrades, performance, insurance claims, PPA obligations, AMA scope and other ad hoc topicsReview of physical defects and performance against contract warranties. Drafting and sending notices of defect and nonconformance and following through to completionSupporting the integration and adoption of new projects to ensure they are ‘Operations Ready’. Acting as Adoption Lead if requiredCapturing lessons learnt and participate in and support Asset Management Department ‘Continuous Improvement’ activityAttending internal, and external supplier and client meetings. Taking minutes and updating documentationUpdating and maintaining contract management tools/trackersKnowledgeStrong computer literacy with particular knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office; SharePoint and DocusignUnderstanding of the regulatory landscape within Northern EuropeKnowledge of subcontracting and tendering processesKnowledge of renewable energy contractsAwareness of the importance of HSQE requirements an advantageSkillsThe ability to be highly organised, in order to manage and prioritise multiple tasks, working to tight deadlinesA keen attention to detail, specifically when dealing with technical and legal documentationStrong and proven stakeholder relationship skillsStrong commercial problem-solving skillsAbility to identify and summarise key contractual provisionsExcellent communication and negotiation skillsExperiencePrevious commercial and contract management experience preferableExperience in construction, asset management or Renewables preferableExperience in managing O&M contracts, PPAs, Construction and or major component supply contractsManaging and resolving disputes between partiesExperience of handling insurance claimsQualificationsAny relevant business, contract, management, or renewable qualificationsDegree/HND level education preferable but not absolute requirementAt RES we celebrate difference as we know it makes our company a great place to work.
