The care and support we provide is highly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present we are only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life. Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness, do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives. We want a different society than the one we live in now. We’re looking for a dedicated Ward Sister to manage a team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants within our In‑Patient Unit working alongside our band 6 charge nurses to support our IPU Ward at our Glasgow Hospice. You’ll play a key role in delivering and coordinating high‑quality, person‑centred palliative care, while supporting the Nurse Manager in fostering a positive and professional working environment. In this pivotal role, you’ll: Provide clinical leadership and supervision Support the development of junior staff Contribute to local and national quality improvement initiatives Maintain a significant clinical caseload This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of patients and families, while shaping the future of specialist palliative care.
