MERITUS are working with an innovative Technical Consultancy. We are seeking two highly skilled and actively SC Cleared Solution Architects to join a critical project in Andover for a Defence Client. You will be instrumental in defining and delivering architecture for complex, high-impact systems, ensuring both technical excellence and alignment with business objectives.

One role is specifically seeking essential experience with Army Intelligence and Commander Systems, while the second requires a strong general Defence background with knowledge of Digital standards capabilities. Both roles require a collaborative approach and a commitment to delivering secure, scalable, and sustainable solutions within a defence context.

Candidates are required to hold an active SC Clearance.

Main Responsibilities:

Translate complex business and user needs into robust, high-level solution designs and comprehensive specifications for medium/large scale, high-complexity initiatives.
Champion and enforce system design principles, model solutions using appropriate techniques, and ensure strict adherence to corporate, industry, and national security standards (e.g., Secure SDLC, NCSC).
Identify, evaluate, and lead the delivery of complex application modernisation and migration initiatives for legacy services, guiding clients towards decisions that promote re-use, sustainability, and risk reduction.
Act as a subject matter expert, providing architectural leadership, mentoring to delivery teams, and collaborating across multi-disciplinary groups to influence all stages of the delivery lifecycle.

Required Skills:

Active SC Security Clearance: Non-negotiable requirement for immediate start.
Defence Sector Expertise: Essential experience in the Defence domain, with one role requiring deep knowledge of current Army Intelligence and Commander Systems.
End-to-End Architectural Mastery: Proven ability to define and manage scoping, requirements (functional/non-functional), design high-level artefacts, and document architecturally significant decisions.
Security & Data Compliance: Strong practical experience applying best practices for solution security (e.g., OWASP, NCSC cloud principles) and handling personal data (e.g., GDPR).
