Bloomsbury is looking for an exceptional Non-Executive Director to join our Board, an individual who is able to bring academic leadership experience from within the higher education sector. Bloomsbury is on an ambitious journey and we are seeking a capable individual to join our Board who can influence the future direction of the Institute. This is an exciting opportunity where you will provide strategic input to the running of the Institute, helping us maintain academic and regulatory excellence and stay ahead in a rapidly evolving education and skills landscape. What We’re Looking For Credibility and academic leadership in higher education, awarding, regulation. Strong knowledge of qualification design, assessment principles, and regulatory frameworks (OFS, HESA, CUC Code of Governance, UKVI, TDAP). Experience of providing assurance to a board or regulator on compliance or quality matters. A strategic mindset and commitment to inclusive, future‑facing leadership. Passion for driving change, challenging the status quo, and mentoring senior leaders. Commitment to learner protection and regulatory integrity. Willingness to provide constructive challenge while maintaining professional relationships. Analytical and problem‑solving skills to support evidence‑based decision‑making. The integrity, curiosity, and collaboration to thrive in a diverse, high‑performing Board with a “can do” mindset to support the senior team when required.
