The Role As a Facilities Engineer, you will play an important role for our South Coast sites (Portsmouth, Gosport, Funtington and Winfrith) ensuring that the facilities, plant and equipment are fully operational so we can continue to deliver important work in support of the UK’s national interest. Day‑to‑day, you will be responsible for the delivery of maintenance across all aspects of building services, undertaking pre‑preventive maintenance, repair, and reactive tasks. Your Responsibilities Provide maintenance support (including planned, preventive & corrective maintenance) in relation to site services, plant / equipment & buildings Deliver specialist maintenance support & services in relation to building plant / equipment Break down complex tasks and then execute the planned schedule of work Prioritise the work programme to satisfy business needs Form part of the on‑call rota within the Maintenance Team Essential Experience Strong knowledge of building systems across all disciplines with a key competency in plumbing, HVAC or gas maintenance Essential Qualifications We value difference and we dont have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you. This role is 37 hours per week based at our Portsmouth site. Shift patterns are 07:30‑16:30 Monday‑Thursday and 07:30‑12:00 Friday, with a 1‑week‑in‑5 on‑call rota. Portsmouth Technology Park (PTP) PTP is one of QinetiQ’s key facilities, focusing on advanced technology development and engineering services. It is dedicated to research and development, ensuring that complex systems are designed, integrated, and tested effectively to meet operational requirements.
