Join to apply for the Compensation & Benefits Manager role at Altery About Us Are you passionate about FinTech and ready to shape how talent is rewarded across Europe? At Altery, we are scaling rapidly and need a Compensation & Benefits (C&B) Manager who can bring structure, compliance, and innovation to our reward framework. Role Overview This role is both strategic and hands‑on. You’ll design and manage our UK, European and Middle East compensation and benefits practices, ensuring they are competitive, compliant, and aligned with fintech best practice. You’ll work closely with HR, Finance, and senior leadership, while advising on governance matters for Board committees. Responsibilities Lead Altery’s salary and benefits framework across the UK, Europe and Middle East. Ensure compliance with UK FCA remuneration codes, the EU Pay Transparency Directive, and other applicable frameworks. Ensure that incentive structures include appropriate risk‑adjustment mechanisms (e.g., discretionary adjustments, and where proportionate, malus or clawback provisions) in line with regulatory expectations and fintech best practice. Drive headcount and remuneration budget planning in partnership with Finance. Provide cost modelling and workforce cost forecasting for senior decision‑makers. Advise on compensation implications of business expansion into new EU markets, considering local regulatory requirements. Manage annual salary review cycles across UK, EU and Middle East markets. Conduct benchmarking. Administer discretionary bonus schemes, ensuring payouts are aligned with sustainable performance and prudent risk management. Support the design of equity‑based plans, LTIPs, or share schemes commonly used in fintech. Design and manage competitive benefits offerings across the UK/EU/Middle East (pensions, private medical, life insurance, wellbeing). Manage vendor relationships with insurers, brokers, and benefits providers. Continuously review benefit structures for cost efficiency, compliance, and employee value. Lead annual gender pay gap and diversity pay reporting across jurisdictions where legally required. Build dashboards and present findings to the Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee (ARCC) and Board. Recommend corrective actions and track progress to close pay gaps and promote transparency. Partner with the Budget Committee, ARCC, and senior executives on remuneration governance. Train managers on reward principles, salary bands, and bonus frameworks to ensure consistent application across the organisation. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Business, HR, or related field. Professional certification (e.g., WorldAtWork GRP, CIPD Reward, or equivalent). 7+ years’ experience in Compensation & Benefits within international organisations, ideally in fintech, financial services, or technology scale‑ups. Proven expertise in UK and EU remuneration regulations. Strong track record in benchmarking, job evaluation, and equity/bonus plan administration. Advanced Excel/Power BI skills; familiarity with Bamboo, Workday or equivalent HRIS. Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to partner with senior executives and Board committees. Fluency in English (C1); additional European languages a plus. Benefits Impact & Growth: Build a reward framework in one of Europe’s fastest‑growing fintech environments. Career Development: Exposure to senior leadership and Board governance. Flexibility: Remote‑first with hybrid options across the UK/EU. Competitive Benefits: Market‑aligned benefits including pension, healthcare, insurance, and wellbeing support. Culture: Collaborative, high‑trust, and innovation‑driven workplace with no micromanagement. Diversity & Inclusion: We commit to transparency, fairness, and reporting on pay equity as part of our ESG goals. Why Join Us At Altery, we embrace the challenges of growth with energy, curiosity, and resilience. We empower our people to make decisions, take ownership, and push fintech innovation forward. Those who go the extra mile are rewarded — through recognition, growth, and a competitive reward framework.
