Senior UX Designer XDP at Barclays Join us as Senior UX Designer for CIAM at Barclays, where you will bring to life a new Digital Platform capability by transforming and modernising our digital estate to build a market‑leading digital offering with customer experience at its heart. This is an exciting and key role where you will adopt a Product Operating Model mindset, truly hear the customer, business and technical challenges and needs, and support the adoption and build of the new technology across multiple lines of business alongside writing code in Java. Your day‑to‑day activities involve working with business lines to bring their needs to life through solutions and rapid prototyping and proof‑of‑concepts. To Be Successful In This Role You Should Have Expertise in mapping and designing complex user journeys in environments spanning multiple technologies. Knowledge of authorisation and authentication technologies such as SSO, MFA, and IAM solutions (Forgerock, Ping Authenticate, Oracle Auth, SailPoint, etc.). Strong experience with web technologies, BDD testing concepts and Public Cloud (AWS). A desire to learn the CIAM platform and everything about user authentication across all Barclays. A willingness to constructively disrupt and challenge the norm, deploying good relationship‑building skills, patience and resilience to change current thinking and working practices while translating technical concepts to both non‑technical and technical teams. Accountabilities Development and delivery of high‑quality software solutions using industry‑aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance. Cross‑functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration with business objectives. Participation in code reviews and promotion of a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing. Staying informed of industry technology trends and contributing to the organisation’s technology communities to foster technical excellence and growth. Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions. Implementation of effective unit‑testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
