Supply Chain Assistant
7 days ago
Curious about the world of procurement and supply chain? This could be the role that sets your career in motion
I’ve been retained by CD Group, a family-owned company with operations in Belfast, Dublin and Cork, to recruit for a Supply Chain Assistant.
The Supply Chain Assistant will join a dedicated and dynamic commercial team, who sit at the heart of business operations. They’re a close-knit group who work hard, enjoy a bit of banter and take real pride in tackling challenges head on. Everyone pulls together around a shared goal - keeping the supply chain running smoothly, so that customers receive their orders on time and in full.
What you need to know:
CD Group is a long-established and well respected business in the automotive industry, employing more than 150 people and generating annual turnover exceeding €50 million. The company has seen consistent high annual growth and ongoing investment. Operating in a demanding aftermarket environment, it’s a company that rewards initiative and values authenticity, drive and a genuine desire to learn.
This new role offers a chance to learn, contribute and scale with the business, while carving a career in supply chain. Working with various individuals including the Commercial Manager, Brand Managers, Inventory Planners and Commercial Analysts, The Supply Chain Assistant will be given hands on, practical training from professionals who understand the importance of developing skills on the job. You can expect exposure to every stage of the supply chain process, from product set up and purchasing, to the importance of stock optimisation, data accuracy and communication.
What you will be doing:
Your primary objective will be to support the commercial supply chain function, by providing essential operational and administrative support. Every day could teach you something new about supply chain, not from a textbook, but from experience (The best way to learn, in my humble opinion). If you'd like to be that steady link between suppliers, data and delivery, keep reading.........
The Supply Chain Assistant's duties will include:
* Collaborating with colleagues across operations, finance, purchasing and sales to keep information and stock moving smoothly
* Creating, updating and maintaining accurate supplier and product data within the company’s ERP system
* Supporting order fulfilment; tracking shipments, managing back orders and assisting with customs or delivery paperwork
* Identifying process gaps or data issues early and helping to find practical solutions
* Creating reports and insights that support day-to-day decision-making within the commercial team
You’ll also get involved in other tasks when required, contributing where you can, to add value across the wider commercial team. Ideas and smarter ways of working are encouraged, giving you space to learn, grow and contribute.
What we're looking for - criteria:
Ideally you will hold a third level qualification, although this is not essential. You should be educated to GCSE level as a minimum.
You don’t need direct procurement supply chain experience for this role; that can be taught. What matters is:
* The right attitude, bringing a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
* Curiosity and attention to detail
* Confidence with Excel and data
* A methodical and organised approach
* Adaptability with the ability to solve problems
* Being able to think on your feet when things get busy
* Excellent communication skills
* A genuine interest in perusing a career in procurement or supply chain
What’s on offer:
* £26,000–£29,000 starting salary
* 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays
* Pension
* Wellbeing initiatives
* Full training and mentoring from a highly experienced team
Hours of work are Monday - Friday, 9.00am–5.30pm. This role is site based
If you’re analytical, organised and hungry to learn, this could be where your procurement and supply chain career begins
How to apply:
Interested applicants who meet the criteria above should upload a copy of their CV to this advert. Alternatively, if you would like to discuss the role in more detail, please contact Kelly Jennings directly.
Please note that applicants should be able to provide proof of right to work in the UK, as part of this recruitment process.
