Highly Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist – Community & Schools 3 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Job Summary The Paediatric Physiotherapy service offers a high-quality service to children aged from birth to school leaving age who are registered with a Camden GP. The service covers nurseries and children's centres, primary and secondary schools including special schools and resource bases. The caseload is varied and there is much opportunity to develop specialist skills in the areas of early advice and intervention (e.g. Health Visitor clinics), Down Syndrome, DCD, Pilates and Rebound group interventions as well as hydrotherapy, orthotics and serial casting. Main duties of the post holder Ensure that high standards of physiotherapy are maintained and developed that are evidence-based and reflect current practice. Autonomously manage a complex caseload. Implement specialist treatment programmes using a child-centred approach. Supervise junior staff and students and contribute to service development (e.g. as Pathway coordinator). Education & Professional Qualifications: BSc Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent; HCPC registration; evidence of CPD including attendance at relevant postgraduate or specialist short courses. Desirable: Membership of a specialist interest group (e.g. APCP). Experience: Substantial postgraduate experience at Band 6 level; paediatric physio experience in schools, community and hospital settings; experience with complex paediatric conditions (e.g., cerebral palsy, motor coordination difficulties); knowledge of assessment tools such as Bayley, GMFM, Movement ABC and CPIP; experience of serial casting, orthotic provision and aquatic therapy. Skills and Aptitudes: Advanced clinical reasoning, problem‑solving, excellent organisational and communication skills, ability to work independently and supervise staff, proficient IT skills. Personal Qualities: Highly effective interpersonal skills, self‑motivated, punctual, adaptable to different sites, commitment to speciality.
