Specialist Children’s Services Disability Nurse Join to apply for the Specialist Children’s Services Disability Nurse role at NHS Scotland NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. This is a fixed term post for 1 year working 37 hours per week (part time hours will be considered). An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 to join the Specialist Children’s Services Team within East Dunbartonshire HSCP but will work in the Renfrewshire area. This post is a full‑time fixed term contract for 1 year as maternity leave cover. The successful candidate will become a key member of the Specialist Community Paediatric Team providing an effective service to children and their families within the Panda Centre, in the community and the home setting. The post holder will be required to work alongside the multi‑disciplinary team supporting children with a broad range of neurodevelopmental and vulnerable needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing their own caseload and be skilled in assessing and reviewing children with a neuro‑disability or developmental disorder. They should possess excellent communication and team working skills as well as the ability to work using their own initiative. Effective time management is also essential for this role. The post holder will require good leadership skills as they will also be involved in supporting other members of the nursing team. Holding current full professional registration is an essential requirement for this post. Candidates who do not complete the professional registration section of the application form or who do not hold current full registration may not be considered for short‑listing. You must also be able to provide evidence of significant continued professional development and post‑registration study. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.
