OverviewThe role of an Admissions Officer is to arrange and manage the admission dates for patients having an elective procedure. This covers the end-to-end process from the point that a clinician decides to add a patient to a surgical waiting list, through to the patient being admitted to hospital.Key responsibilities• Organise and manage patient admission dates and waiting list entries.• Work as part of the Access team covering a variety of administrative functions across the Trust.• Ensure that patients are admitted to hospital in a timely and efficient manner, making the process as smooth as possible for patients and clinicians.• Follow policy & procedure guidelines and develop competence in departmental specialties during the first six months.Qualifications & skills• Up-to-date keyboard skills and recent clerical experience.• Experience of dealing with members of the public.• Proven ability to be flexible in responding to changing situations.• Committed to training and development opportunities.Diversity & inclusionWe welcome applications from people in all under‑represented groups and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
