The Consultant will be a highly regarded member of the services senior management team working with the Dental Service Manager, Clinical Lead, Consultant in Special Care Dentistry, Clinical Team Lead and Dental Nurse Manager. Active involvement with the Paediatric Managed Clinical Network will be essential. JD approved by Royal College Main duties of the job The development of paediatric specialist clinical capacity and effective support, guidance, training and workforce development opportunities for our clinical teams now and in the future To support and further develop clinicians so that they can demonstrate enhanced (Tier 2) skills in paediatric dentistry, enabling the service to develop in line with recommendations of relevant Commissioning Guidance for Paediatric Dentistry while offering high quality care for children To be involved in and guide the management of medically compromised children and adolescents in the community and to develop and improve essential local, regional and national links In conjunction with other Specialists within and out with the service deliver, develop and enhance the provision of treatment under conscious sedation and general anaesthesia To further develop emergency and urgent dental trauma management and treatment within Northamptonshire To contribute to planning and management of paediatric dental services for Northamptonshire helping to deliver and secure commissioned service delivery Lead on CPD provision within service for paediatric general anaesthesia and conscious sedation Working for our organisation NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community.
