Pay Range Bank Chef - £15.45 per hourContract: Bank – Zero hoursWorking Hours: As/when required, 10.25 hr shifts – times between 7:30am‑6:15pm. About the Service Surehaven Glasgow is registered with Health Improvement Scotland as an Independent Low Secure Hospital. It accommodates 21 patients aged 18‑65 years with a primary diagnosis of severe and enduring mental illness, all of whom are detained under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Scotland Act 2003 or Criminal Procedures (Scotland) Act 1995. The hospital has a 21‑bedded unit (all ensuite) split into 2 gender‑specific wards, designed to maximise communal and living space and provide activity rooms for therapeutic programmes. The Role We are looking for a Bank Chef to join the team at Surehaven Glasgow. Responsibilities Preparing, cooking and serving meals for residents and others as required, in a timely manner. Providing a varied diet, catering for the cultural preferences of those who use our services. Catering for celebrations and other events in our Home. Working solo in the kitchen when required. Ordering supplies within the catering budget and company policy guidelines, using approved suppliers in the absence of the Senior Cook. Maintaining accurate catering records in accordance with HACCP. Participating in inspections by Environmental Health and/or care regulators and Local Authorities. Maintaining a high standard of hygiene within the kitchen by adhering to HACCP and COSHH guidelines. Assisting in the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment by ensuring adherence to Health & Safety and Welfare. Ability to manage the Catering Team. We will provide you with full training, including our leadership programme to support your development and opportunities for progression within Shaw.
