This role is a unique opportunity for an individual who is passionate about using data to solve a wide range of business problems across all functions.You will act as a critical data partner providing insights to every department from the warehouse floor to the e-Commerce team. You will be a champion for data-driven decision-making helping to improve data understanding and use across the company and serving as a key resource for ad-hoc requests and proactive analysis.Key ResponsibilitiesCross-Functional Analysis & Business Partnering: Serve as a data consultant for stakeholders with varying levels of data literacy across the entire business. You will be the go-to person for questions on everything from logistics efficiency and inventory turnover to sales performance and marketing campaign effectiveness.Proactive Insights & Storytelling: Go beyond simply answering questions. You will independently explore datasets to uncover trends, anomalies and opportunities that are not immediately obvious. You will then translate these findings into clear compelling narratives using visualisations and presentations empowering department heads to make informed decisions.FP&A Support: Assist with reporting and analysis for the finance team. This will involve providing data to support financial planning analysis and reporting leveraging your analytical skills to contribute to a deeper understanding of our financial performance.Data Advocacy & Education: You will create analyses that prove the value of a certain metric or insight. Your work may serve as the foundation for new permanent reports. You will also help users understand how to interpret and use data and existing reports to answer their own questions.Technical Proficiency: Work hands-on with our data platform Microsoft Fabric. This involves using SQL to query large cross-functional datasets and Python for more advanced analysis data manipulation and automation of repetitive tasks.SkillsetTechnical Skills: Youllneed to be proficient in SQL for data extraction and manipulation. A strong command of Microsoft Excel is also essential for day-to-day ability with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau is a significant advantage. We are open to candidates with a great analytical mindset who can learn new tools. We also highly value familiarity with Python (e.g. pandas numpy) for more advanced analysis. Any experience with Microsoft Fabric is a bonus.Experience: We’re looking for someone with proven experience in a data analyst or business intelligence role preferably within a wholesale or distribution environment with experience with a major ERP system as well as Salesforce and Google Analytics is highly desirable.Analytical Abilities: Exceptional problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail. The ability to work with large complex datasets and translate them into simple actionable insights.Communication & Mentoring: Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience. The ideal candidate will be a natural teacher, patient and enthusiastic about helping others develop their data literacy.Business Acumen: A solid understanding of business operations and a high degree of intellectual curiosity.
