As a learning support assistant, you will support students with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), autism (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and complex medical needs. The Role We are looking for enthusiastic, resilient and child-centred learning support assistants to join our dedicated team. You will: Support pupils with a wide range of learning, sensory, physical and communication needs Create meaningful, engaging, and accessible learning experiences Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support services Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and families Contribute to a highly positive, safe and nurturing school environment What We’re Looking For We welcome applicants who are: Passionate about ALN and committed to helping pupils thrive Patient, empathetic and adaptable in a dynamic environment Can be confident using a range of communication approaches (PECS, Makaton, AAC) Team players who bring energy, creativity and enthusiasm to the role Willing to work collaboratively with health professionals and behaviour support teams Experience in ALN is helpful but not essential—we value the right mindset above all.
