Workshop Manager – Controls Division Location: Glasgow Job Type: Full Time, Permanent Salary: GBP35,000 per annum, dependent on experience HF Group is one of the UK’s leading multi-discipline building services contractors, delivering high-quality solutions across Electrical, Mechanical, Fire and Security, Telecommunications, and Automated Controls. Our head office is in Glasgow with offices in Edinburgh, Manchester, Belfast and Aberdeen, providing services to clients across both public and private sectors throughout the UK. About the Role This is a hands‑on leadership role, ideal for someone who can drive a safe, efficient and productive environment. Responsibilities Planning, coordinating and overseeing all workshop operations and workflows Ensuring work is completed on time, within budget and to specified quality standards (overtime working may be necessary at times to meet client needs) Managing workshop scheduling to optimise productivity and turnaround time Monitoring and maintaining workshop equipment, tools, testing equipment and inventory Implementing and enforcing health and safety regulations, risk assessments and safe working practices, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations (e.g., ISO 9001 standards) Conducting regular safety audits, risk assessments, tool inspections and training refreshers Controlling waste and supporting budgeting activities Preparing regular operational reports for senior management Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required Strong understanding of workshop processes (mechanical, fabrication, electrical, safety etc.) Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, motors, PLCs and industry equipment Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation Familiarity with workshop management systems, relevant electrical codes and standards Excellent people management and team leadership skills Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills NVQ, HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related discipline Demonstrable experience in electrical installation, maintenance and manufacture In Return We Offer Competitive Salary Death in Service Scheme Private Medical Care Critical Illness Cover Perk box Subscriptions HF Group is an equal opportunity employer, committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
