Customer Assistant – Food Section Location: Kingston Upon Thames, England, United Kingdom Employment type: Part‑time Seniority level: Entry level Job function: Retail (Other) Purpose: To deliver a great shopping experience for our customers by championing M&S Food products and providing outstanding service every time they visit. Key Accountabilities: Serve customers efficiently both on the shop floor and at service points. Maintain clean and tidy store premises and ensure shelves are stocked. Monitor and achieve daily sales targets, priorities, promotions, and selling opportunities. Proactively engage with customers to understand their needs and make recommendations. Build expert product knowledge to sell and recommend M&S Food products and services. Utilise digital tools and communication channels to deliver the best customer experience. Key Capabilities: High levels of customer service. Commitment to excellent work with strong attention to detail. Openness to feedback and ability to act upon it. Accountability for planning and managing own workload efficiently. Strong communication skills. Adaptability to changing situations. Positive relationship building and good listening. Good digital capability. All colleagues in this role must be 18 years of age or older. The unsocial premium of £3.00 p/h is only added for hours worked between 22:00‑06:00.
