They make us tick, inspire us, push us to be better.Now we want to hear from you.The Role:StudioXAG is looking for Senior Carpenters to join the team on a permanent basis, to help us build and install the show stopping storytelling that we are famous for.Ideal Experience:Recognised carpentry and joinery qualification or 10+ years of professional experienceExtensive experience in carpentry, including first fix and second fixPrecision joinery and fine finishing for bespoke buildsSkilled with traditional hand tools and modern woodworking machinery (routers, panel saws, rail saws, edge-bander, vacuum press)Proficient in: cutting, profiling, scribing, laminating, dowelling, biscuiting, drilling, and tapping across a wide range of materialsAdvanced finishing techniques such as sanding, staining, lacquering, and polishingStrong structural understanding of timber and construction methodsBroad knowledge of solid and engineered timber, veneers, laminates, composites, and specialist materialsExperience maintaining and sharpening hand tools and power tools, with general repair and maintenance skillsSite experience on large projects withFamiliar with organised and clear working practices, including health and safety standards and good extraction practicesProficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawingsStrong problem-solving ability for non-standard or complex fabrication requirementsKnowledge of production processes and materialsBackground in team leadership and task delegationUnderstanding of low-voltage electrics and LED integration (relevant to joinery installations)Additional fabrication skills in metalwork, sculpture, and machiningSkills & Responsibilities:Oversee multiple projects, consulting on comprehensive plans, and timelinesAssign tasks based on team members' skill sets to ensure optimal project executionIdentify areas for improvement, conduct training sessions and mentor junior team membersEnsure the quality of all projects, providing feedback, and establishing growth plansEnsure all projects adhere to health and safety regulations and contribute to improving practices.Innovation and process improvement, introduce new materials and processes, aligned with company objectivesManagement of own time effectivelyAs a senior member of staff, you will conduct yourself in a professional and proactive manner, exemplifying the core values of both the workshop team and the broader businessLocation:From our East London studio in E10 or on-site/in-store depending on the project.Hours:Our workshop hours are optional: 7am - 4pm or 8am - 5pm.
