Post: Firearms Licensing Unit Administrator (Ref 25-114) Salary: Scale 3, £25,242 - £26,703 (Pro-rata) Hours: 26 hours (Part time) Contract Type: Permanent Location: CPHQ, Hemlington Applications are invited for the post of Firearms Licensing Unit Administrator within the Firearms Licensing Unit, Force Intelligence Department. About the Role As a Firearms Licensing Unit Administrator, you will provide essential administrative support to the unit, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and maintaining accurate records on local and national firearms licensing systems. This is a varied role where you’ll interact with certificate holders, registered dealers, and members of the public, while supporting internal processes that help keep communities safe. What You’ll Be Doing Deliver excellent customer service by responding promptly and confidently to queries from the public and stakeholders. Maintain accurate records of persons, addresses, and firearms to support public safety and identify potential risks. Input and manage data on the National Firearms Licensing Management System (NFLMS) and other internal systems. Handle telephone and written communications, preparing correspondence for internal and external parties. Research policing databases to assist with risk assessments and decision-making. Provide general administrative support, including casework progression and preparing management reports. Ensure compliance with statutory frameworks and maintain departmental records and archives. The shift pattern for this role is yet to be confirmed but will cover 26 hours per week, working Monday to Friday.
