Join to apply for the Associate - Asset Management role at WSP in the UK & IrelandJob DescriptionOverviewOur Strategic Asset Management team is growing, working across sectors providing advisory and consultancy services to road, rail and aviation clients. As an Associate within the team, you will work closely with our Head of Strategic Asset Management and Asset Management Directors in delivering our ambitious growth plans. You will provide technical leadership to our teams and will use your knowledge and skills to deliver the right quality to time and budget. You will use those attributes to lead teams, mentor and support junior team members. You will take a leading role across our Strategic Asset Management portfolio on all aspects of delivery, project performance, client relationships and people development whilst contributing to the operational performance of the team. Working closely with our Head of Strategic Asset Management, you will contribute towards our team strategy, delivering to its monthly and annual business targets.In This Role Your Responsibilities Will IncludeSafety, health and well-being (SH&W) leadership – demonstrate strong leadership embedding our SH&W culture across our teams.Working with Head of Strategic Asset Management, contribute towards the operational performance of the team, such as:Ensuring successful commercial project performanceDelivering to our monthly business KPI’sLead the development and implementation of strategic asset management frameworks for clients across infrastructure and other sectors (e.g. highways, transportation, rail, defence, utilities).Provide technical leadership on complex projects, applying expertise in risk-based decision-making, whole-life asset planning, information management and regulatory compliance.Lead analytical staff and technical experts to inform long-term capital investment programmes.Manage resources and develop relationships with other teamsAgree fees and manage the commercial position on projectsWhat We Will Be Looking For You To DemonstrateA Chartered Engineer or similar qualification.A strong understanding of the design and maintenance engineering challenges faced by at least one industry, preferably including highways.Experience of working with asset data systems, including configuring or specifying Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems, Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or Decision Support Tools (DSTs).Demonstrable experience and understanding of asset management practices and theory, and business strategy.Broad knowledge of the regulatory frameworks affecting infrastructure development in the UK.Strong expertise in ISO 55000, asset lifecycle planning, investment planning, risk-based asset management strategies and digital transformation in asset management.Business acumen and a desire to progress into an operational role.Ability to develop strong relationships with clients and to work with resources and teams across the business (regionally and internationally).Strong commercial awareness and ability to influence financial performance on projects.What’s In It For YouWork-life balance: Hybrid working policy offering the flexibility to work from home two days a week, plus collaboration in modern offices across the UK.Inclusivity & Belonging: We welcome applicants from varied backgrounds and experiences, and promote a culture of inclusion and belonging at WSP.Health & Wellbeing: Thrive programme, Virtual GP service, reasonable workplace adjustments, Gymflex scheme, and menopause support package.Flex your time: WSP My Hour to take one hour each day for personal activities, plus options for part-time/flexible working, additional leave, and bank holiday entitlement flexibility.Your development: Training, mentoring and Chartership opportunities.#WeAreWSP: Commitment to equal opportunity and disability inclusion.About UsWe are one of the world’s leading engineering and professional services firms.
