Would you like the chance to influence and persuade key stakeholders to drive change and maximise profit?We are currently looking for a Technical Product Support Manager to join our Commercial team in the Midlands to ensure development is focussed on profitable products with a confirmed market and predicted profitability return. Working closely with Marketing, Operations, Commercial, Procurement, Customers and Technical as appropriate, this role willsupportthe unit role out of products and provide Technical guidance/expertise for a products and applications, to add value for the business and customers or when issues arise.This is a regional role covering the Midlands ideally based out of The Hub at Tarmac Mountsorrel, near Loughborough however with other sites across the region if you live in Leicester, Burton upon Trent, Nottingham, Derby, Birmingham, Wolverhampton or Coventry then this role may suit you.Were working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and its important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.Main ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Area Commercial Manager, the role of Technical Product Support Manager will be responsible for ensuring knowledge transfer across regions on slow moving stock solutions, from both a technical and end user / market prospective as well as regular liaison andsupportto selected Local Authorities, targeted Key Contractors and National Contracting in sector and/ geographical locations to increase VAP sales. Another key element of this role is intelligent focussed VAP promotion based on national and local targets with based on projected profit / return at specific supply units.The role of Technical Product Support Manager will also be responsible for:Ensuring appropriate focus on National VAP related initiatives across the regionAttending Commercial meetings and identifying and supporting opportunities as well as identifying slow moving VAPs and contributing to the creation of action plans to improve salesParticipating in the practical development of new products and facilitation of any related trialsEnsuring successful launch of new products within the region in addition to supporting and monitoring longer term sales progressSupporting the Commercial team in the review, support and assessment of Accredited Contractors including advising and controlling the use of Tarmac VAPs ProductsEstablishing a faster route to market for new products by obtaining swift client approval and subsequent contractor guidance to usePaving the way to assist with securing supplies to longer term Local Authority Framework ContractsUsing client feedback to identify future R&D opportunitiesContributing to Marketing and Client Communication newslettersPromoting Tarmac VAPs at industry conferences and eventsLeading key commercial training requirementsThe Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate for the role of Technical Product Support Manager will demonstrate a good knowledge of Aggregate and Asphalt production methods as well as experience and a good understanding of the industry as well as Tarmac current product availability.Candidates should also evidence a focus on future needs and opportunities as well as possess a strong knowledge of current Aggregate and Asphalt testing methods and a working knowledge of Quality Assurance systems and procedures.Suitable candidates for the role of Technical Product Support Manager will also have:Established project management experienceProven planning, organising and time management skillsHigh degree of influence and persuasion and capable of influencing through fact based reasonedargumentsExperience writing successful quality submissions and proposal documentsIntellectual conceptual thinking with the ability to also identify practical issuesExcellent communication skills and confidence to engage successfully with key stakeholders at all levels both internal and externalAbility to motivate team members in a matrix management environmentStrong technical product knowledge and numeracy skills with a good understanding of how to maximise profitIT literateMembership of relevant Industry organisation (preferred)At Tarmac, who you are matters.
